CAR WASH

This car wash was Project Compassion’s first little project. It was mid July and Elysia had raised I think around $300 since the start of Project Compassion on June 2. Up until this point all donations were from the pockets of our Elysia members and we were trying to meet our goal of $1,000 by August 14, 2016. We had no idea how we were going to come up with $800 in less than a month, especially since our ministry is made up mostly of poor college students.

We ended up deciding that a car wash was the way to go. So on July 23, many of our members gave up their Saturday to wash cars from 10am to 3pm. We were a little worried when we realized the day was overcast. But God is faithful! We literally had no breaks during the entire car wash because a car would pull up as soon as we finished one. The car wash brought in $800, allowing us to meet our $1,000 goal! Praise the Lord!

Here are some pictures of our handsome brothers washing a van.
