HAIRCUT DAY

Elysia leader, Sam Shin, has been giving free haircuts to many of our young church men for the past couple of years. It’s funny to have watched his client list grow from a couple members of Elysia to around 10 Elysia members and 10 youth kids. I think the best part of all of this is that Sam is self taught and enjoys the time he spends with each person.

For this event Sam gave haircuts with the goal of raising $200. Haircuts have always taken place in one of FWMC’s men’s bathrooms with a simple high chair but Pastor Younger brought in a lamp and a really nice spinning bar stool to make the experience a little more special. Judging from the pictures it seems that Sam also added a bit of flair with the neatly organized setup and extra grooming products.

He had about 14 clients that day and cut hair from 10am to 6pm. By the end of it we were able to raise $176. Awesome right? Only $24 shy from the $200 goal….

But wait! There’s more!

We actually were able to raise $200!

Someone overheard Pastor and Sam talking about his $200 goal and later in private gave Pastor $24 so we can reach $200. This person wishes to stay anonymous and simply told Pastor to tell everyone that God provided. Praise the Lord! He really did.
